Pas facile pour moi d' identifier ces Brachiopodes, Genre Torquirhynchia (Childs, 1969) certainement! Bizarrement ils étaient dans un lot de coquillages actuels de la Mer Rouge. Je sais qu' il existe de fameux gisements de fossiles en Egypte mais dans les TFAI ????? Si je me base sur leur ''dentition'' il y a au moins deux espèces: deux spécimen (A 25/21) sont bien rond et le troisième (B 22) plus plat. Il y a des trace de Jurassique dans cette région; pas à Djibouti mais au Yémen, en Ethiopie, Somalie, tous bordant la Mer Rouge d' où sont originaires les coquillages du lot! Ces coquilles sont parfaitement semblables à ceux collectés dans le Jurassique Français! Taille: 25, 22 et 21 mm.
Not easy for me to identify these brachiopods, Genus Torquirhynchia (Childs, 1969) certainly! Strangely they were in a lot of existing shells of the Red Sea. I know that there are famous fossil deposits in Egypt but in the TFAI ????? If I am checking their 'teeth' 'there are at least two species: two specimen (A 25/21) are well rounded and the third (B 22) flatter. There are Jurassic trace in this region; not in Djibouti but Yemen, Ethiopia, Somalia, all bordering the Red Sea from where the shells are from the lot! These shells are perfectly similar to those collected in the Jurassic French! Size: 25, 22 and 21 mm.
